Positive Vibes

Things have already been looking up this week, and it's only Wednesday!

I've had an extremely focused mindset on a lot of things and have been working on setting realistic short and long term goals. My mind has also been wrapped around the blog lately. I know I only have a handful of posts, but one thing that concerns me is my sometimes obsessive personality. Once I realize I enjoy something I tend to overexercise the activity until I don't like it anymore. I go through phases like this from time to time: I start off really, REALLY loving something, and then I just burn out. This happens to me when I find a song I like, too. I buy one song, listen to it 600 times, and then never want to hear it again. I want this blog to be different. It'll be a challenge at times to commit to something like this, but it is so exciting to try something new and fun! On another note, I have had so many small, but great things happen to me this week and have plenty more to look forward to as the weekend approaches. Here are some of the highlights:

- I finally went and got a mani/pedi with my rockin' mama (6 months overdue but nonetheless enjoyable)
- After weeks of not hearing any news on summer jobs I have heard back from three great opportunities. Nothing is set in stone but it's an awesome start!
 - I have started a bucket list. Once I've finalized it my ultimate goal is to have a page on here dedicated to my journeys as things get checked off, exciting!
- Two of my best friends turn 19 this week which means a weekend of fun and celebrating!
Julie's birthday (left picture) was today and we are celebrating Friday. Maddie's birthday (right) is this Saturday and is also when we will rejoice in her final year of being a teenager.

- I came across two awesome reading lists for people who love books like "The Fault In Our Stars". Considering I finished that book in less than a day and hated putting it down for meals; I am thrilled to now know of more books I will enjoy in similar fashion. Yay for summer reading!
- And lastly, I've been working on my crafting abilities and hope to get a post together to help those artistically challenged, like myself, make works of art to be proud of.

Happy Wednesday!

Already Behind...

on this whole "blogging" thing. With only one actual post completed I am constantly on the search of something decently intriguing to write about. Then again, this is MY life (aka Lexpedition) so I feel obligated to update on here as such. Which leads me to my first "Adventures" post *drum roll*
I have officially gone to Sprinkles Cupcakes!

Now I know this isn't some cross country hike, but nonetheless I was thrilled to finally realize what my sweet tooth had been missing out on. Like any adventure, I could not take on this journey alone and was happily accompanied by two friends (plus, you never know what crazy danger we could have encountered in an uptown bakery...safety first). Sadly, we only got one picture out of the endeavor and it does not do the cupcakes any justice THEY WERE PHENOMENAL.
Behold my adequate and equally cliche photo of my first Sprinkles experience.

We all made the genius decision to go with not just any ordinary Sprinkles cupcakes, but each get a Sprinkles sundae. Holy. Wow. To sum it up, this bad boy is composed of your choice of one Sprinkles cupcake with a scoop of ice cream sandwiched in between. I went with a red velvet cupcake with vanilla ice cream. Brilliant.
After our first bite Maddie and I decided we would be returning in the near future to try new flavor combinations. If you live anywhere within a 30 mile radius of a Sprinkles I highly encourage you to try it out for yourself (and document the experience better than I did). 100% worth it, I promise.

Although I Don't Know Who You Are, I'm Positive You're Fierce

~Summer is in the air~

So much time to relax, maybe earn some extra money, lay by the pool, and of course...
 craft for big-little. *cringe*
Let me emphasize to you that I am the next Picasso the struggle of me attempting to craft. It took me the span of a few hours to make this bad boy...
...as well as trash an 11x14 canvas that I tried to repaint 3 different times (I really should have taken a picture of it, sorry guys). The one successful piece from today is also the first painting I have ever made and not thrown it out. I always have friends do artsy things on my behalf, or pay someone, anything really to get the job done without me doing it. Basically, my lack of artistic ability is not only comical and embarrassing, but expensive.
However, I have been excited for big-little since I became a little. You can ask anyone. I wish I could put into words how much big-little means to me and that is solely because my two bigs are absolutely perfect. I'd say we are as close as bigs and littles can be, and everyone jokes about how I look like the literal child of my bigs because of how alike we act and look.
No joke, these ladies will be two of my bridesmaids.

I know big-little is still several months away, but still. I really can't help but be over enthusiastic to have a little to call my own. I already know I'm going to be obsessed with her and her fierce self, so why not start the gift-making early? She deserves it. Among all of the crafts and sorority gear I will hoard over the next few months, I also wanted write something in this post to show her on reveal day (and pray I remember to tell her about it).

A Letter to My Future Little

Dear Little,

If you're big-little reveal was anything like mine, it was a blast (and if it was not anything like mine, then I absolutely suck and I'm sorry). I am so excited for you to be the 1 to my 2 and build a friendship over the next fews years that will last a lifetime. I already know we are going to close. Your G's and I are inseparable and I take the big-little bond to heart. I was an only child until the birth of my half sister when I was 13 and have always wanted siblings that were, you know, less than a decade apart from me. Maybe we met because I was the one you ran to on bid day, like Lauren was for me, or maybe our paths crossed randomly one weekend like mine and Mikki's. Whatever the event may be, I know for certain that it was because you are the person in your pledge class who I connect with the most (or persons, maybe you are a twin). I am so excited to guide you through your first year of college and all of the fun, laughs, and occasional obstacles it brings. A lot happens freshman year, and it's a blast. I'll be here every step of the way if times ever get tough, and to make sure you do not make the same mistakes like I did. You're going to make my college experience much more fun and I hope to only do the same for you, little bit.
To the Moon and Back,
Your Big

Wow

Getting this thing set up is a lot more time consuming than I imagined. Can't wait until it's ready to show off to the world, I know how much the public wants to join me on my Lexpedition.
My Lexploration
hehe
Okay, back to work.
